If you have a sporty son, the school will embrace and develop that and take it to the max.
Good Schools Guide

Cricket is the one of the main core sports at Shrewsbury House School. Although delivered primarily throughout the summer term, indoor net training (on site) takes place throughout the winter months for all boys.

All boys play Cricket and all are given the opportunity to play in competitive matches for their school. With a wonderful grass pitch and wicket at Almshouse Lane, and the opportunity to play on our new All Weather Surface, the boys have the best of both worlds. The 1st XI has experienced recent success in local and County competition and this is mirrored in many of the younger age groups.

We have a proud and long standing tradition not only of touring, but also of hosting touring teams. Each year boys and staff at Shrewsbury House School host a team or two from overseas (usually South Africa). Every two years the senior boys are given the opportunity to tour the Caribbean and play multiple matches against talented local schools and clubs. Both ventures always prove valuable not only in sporting terms, but also in extending the cultural and hospitality experience of pupils at the school.

Tom Eaves, Shrewsbury House School’s Head of Cricket leads a dedicated and experienced team charged with delivering a comprehensive and successful Cricket programme. Mr. Eaves has overseen further development of staff and revitalised our Cricket delivery. This has included investment for the benefit of all Shrewsbury House boys, in our indoor cricket facilities and equipment to ECB standard, by RunMaker, an organisation that offers personalised, professional cricket coaching for young cricketers in our sports hall out of school hours. RunMaker also sponsored our cricket tour to St. Lucia.
