Earlier this week Peter Jay Black visited SHS and spoke to Years 4,5 & 6 to talk about his action-packed series, Urban Outlaws, featuring a team of young modern day Robin Hoods who rob from the bad to give to the poor and needy.
After spending most of his School years daydreaming, he went to Arts University in Bournemouth. After this Peter began a career in IT but his brilliant imagination never stopped working. One day, when a team of super-skilled kids popped into his head and showed him their hideout – a WWII bunker hidden under London – he knew he had to write about their adventures. And so the Urban Outlaws were born.
Peter spoke to the boys about his inspiration for the characters in his books, explaining how he improved on his original draft. An interactive session followed and Peter gave the boys tips on linking sentences together….which really got the boys thinking!
He finished off with a lively Q & A session followed by a book signing.
