Alpine Challenge 12th June 2017

At the end of last month an intrepid group of current, future and past parents joined Mr Davison on the inaugural Shrewsbury House School Trust Charity Alpine Challenge. The enthusiastic mums and dads were charged with summiting three peaks in three countries in three days! Of course it helped that this challenge took place around the beautiful Chamonix valley and under the ever present Mont Blanc – Europe’s highest peak. All are to be congratulated on their commitment to the challenge and to the their training regimes – it was clear that all participants had respected the significant undertaking of walking up to eight hours and climbing over one thousand vertical metres each day. Aside from the physical training, the group committed to raising money for Jamie’s Farm – a wonderful charity supporting young people through access to their dedicated farm sites across the UK. Money is still coming in but I am amazed and delighted to report that the SHS group have raised over £20,000 for this worthy cause! My thanks to all those who supported this venture, to Damien and Alison (and staff) at ChamonixHardX, to Mr Doble for his support and to the staff at Jamie’s Farm who do such sterling work!
