Shrewsbury House School, building on its expertise in pre-prep education, has sought to expand its portfolio of pre-preps and acquired Shrewsbury Lodge in 2009. Priding itself on providing an exceptional level of preparation for the next stages of education, it is ideally positioned to nurture the unique culture and ethos of The  Rowans.

Penny Hughes, Chair of Governors of King’s commented, “We are proud of our period of ownership of The Rowans School and very confident that its special character will be sustained through a change in ownership. Shrewsbury House is a Trust with whom we have had an excellent long term relationship and which sends many pupils to King’s senior school.”

Darren Johns, Chair of Governors of Shrewsbury House School Trust, said, “ We are delighted to have acquired such a special school as The Rowans and we believe we are ideally placed to further develop the School following great progress under King’s ownership. As a King’s alumnus and a current parent, I am delighted that this reaffirms the close working relationship between the two groups.”

Joanna Hubbard, Head of The Rowans School, said “I am proud to be leading the school, its staff, pupils and parents into this next phase, and look forward to maintaining our high standards of education and care as well as continuing to develop the school. “
