Last Sunday five of our Rugby A teams, from U9 to the 1st team, competed at the Tonbridge School Rugby Festival in Kent. It was a fantastic and unique experience for all our teams to be so near each other and support each other as the day progressed.
The U9’s played an incredible amount of free flowing rugby with Tom Noble being the tackler of day and Raayan Hussain the most improved of the day.
The U10’s encountered a tough first few games, but they eventually started to perform in the positive way that they can. Special mentions go to George Day for his sheer commitment and Felix Gerlach on his improvement throughout the day.
Our U11’s also managed to play some tough rugby, winning and losing well, but managing to play good rugby throughout. Two mentions for enormous tackles go to Hugh Jacobs and Rhys Evans.
The U12’s played very well against some very good teams and were deservedly unbeaten on the day and crowned overall winners; Ben Knight and Ollie Bamford were heroic in some of their tackles on the day.
The 1st team had a slow start losing the first game, but they showed great resilience to become unbeaten for the rest of the day finishing runner’s up overall. Kai Lam Denham, Joshua Bellamy and Jack Walder played big parts in the day but very well done to all. The day was an extremely successful one for the boys and Shrewsbury House School.
